Striped Ladybird

This afternoon after bringing some silverbeet leaves in for our dinner we found several of these:

It is called a Striped Ladybird  -  binomial name is :  Micraspis frenata

According to the link below they are a "good" ladybird - ie eat other insects
-the larvae of this species eats aphids

The silverbeet leaves are being eaten by some insect - probably grasshopppers
and there are no aphids around that I have spotted, so I have no explanation as to
why they are on the silverbeet.
